Glorious Feast of Nativity Letter

Dear beloved in Christ Jesus our Lord:

icona_copta_nativitaGrace, mercy, and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord be multiplied to you. On the occasion of the Nativity Feast of our Lord Jesus Christ and the beginning of the New Year, and on your behalf we extend our sincere wishes to His Holiness Pope Tawadros II. We also congratulate you, asking the Lord to make these days blessed for the Church and for all family members. In these holy days in which we commemorate the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ, we give thanks and praise to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus our Lord (1 Peter 1:3). While we see the spiritual darkness covering many on the earth, and total darkness covering the brutal groups, the Lord’s light dawns and the nations see the glory of the Lord in His Church and in His people (Isaiah 60:2).

We hope that you have the spiritual awareness of what is happening around us these days. This extreme darkness and what we see, in political confusion and in the brutality of a human being against his fellow man, expresses the human condition that is void of faith in Christ the son of God, and is far from God’s salvation that is offered by God for humanity in Jesus Christ. Without real faith in Christ, man is dead in sin (Ephesians 2:1), separated from Christ (Ephesians 2:12), without God (Ephesians 1:12), and estranged from divine life (Ephesians 4:18). Consequently, he does not know God, even if he claims being religious (Galatians 4:8), is under the wrath of God (John 3:36), and is hopeless in the world (Ephesians 2:12, Romans 5:6-8). The darkness we see today is evidence of the loss of grace that is offered to us in Christ Jesus, and the fruit of unbelief in Him.

However, we thank God who has given us abundant spiritual blessings through the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus, our faith in Him, and our fellowship with Him. We received from God the Father in Christ, the forgiveness of sins (1 John 2:12), reconciliation with God (Romans 5:10-11), justification before God the Father (2 Corinthians 5:21), the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38-39), the transformation of our dark nights into light, and being a new creations in Christ Jesus (Acts 26:18, 2 Corinthians 5:17). The greatest of all these, is that we have real knowledge of God the Father (John 17:3), have fellowship and favor with God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit who dwells in us (1 John 1:3, 1 Corinthians 3:16), and have eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (John 3:36).

We take this opportunity to share with you the good news of the work of the mighty hand of God in the Church and in the new building project. Most of the major construction works have been completed. With God’s grace, we hope to use the building by the beginning of this summer in the Liturgies, Sunday School classes and activities for the children, the youth and seniors as well as celebrating special occasions in it and much more. We thank you for your prayers and support, and ask you to continue so the work is completed without stopping. You may donate online at the church site. May the Lord our God bless you, your family, and your children. To Him be the glory in the church forever, Amen.
